Lowco HS Boys Golf Roundup: March 15-17

Simon McAlister earned medalist honors and led Beaufort High to a pair of wins in Region 7-4A meets this week, and Hilton Head Prep split its team and finished first and second in a seven-team SCISA meet. Here are the details in this week’s Lowco HS Boys Golf Roundup.

Lowco HS Track & Field Roundup: March 12

Lowco squads made up nine of the 14 teams in a strong field at May River’s Shark Invitational on Saturday, and they kept plenty of hardware at home, while host Beaufort High had a strong showing at the Beaufort Relays.

HSGOLF: HHCA edges Heritage, medalist Gavin at Parris Island

Hilton Head Christian Academy boys golf posted an impressive team score of 149 to edge Heritage Academy and individual medalist Michael Gavin by one shot in a SCISA golf meet Thursday at the Legends of Parris Island. 

HS GOLF: Patrick, Dolphins top field at first SCISA meet

Led by individual medalist Jeep Patrick, Hilton Head Prep boys golf cruised to a big win in the first SCISA Region 4 golf match of the season Wednesday on Fripp Island Club’s Ocean Creek course.

HSXC: Holy Trinity girls win 3rd straight SCISA 1A crown

Holy Trinity’s girls continued their reign on the cross country trails Saturday, capturing their third consecutive SCISA 1A title at Heathwood Hall in Columbia, while the Mighty Lion boys came up just short of a fourth straight title, taking second place behind South Aiken Christian. 

HS SWIM: HHCA boys, quartet of state champs lead Lowco swimmers

Hilton Head Christian Academy’s boys placed third behind state champions Jack Ussery and Levi Eidson, Hilton Head Prep’s Sterling Burd matched Ussery with two individual titles, and John Paul II’s Aubrey Porada captured a state crown to lead the Lowco contingent at the SCISA State Swimming Championships on Saturday at the North Charleston Aquatic Center.

HS SAIL: HHP, JPII post strong showings at Jordan Lake

Hilton Head Prep sailed to an impressive second-place finish and John Paul II cracked the top 10 in the 25-team open division, and the Dolphins finished third in the South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association’s North Points regatta Saturday at Jordan Lake in Raleigh.

HSXC: JPII girls, HHP boys make it back-to-back wins at Cross

John Paul II’s girls and Hilton Head Prep’s boys got it done for the second straight week on the cross country trails, taking the top spots Tuesday at Cross Schools in Bluffton.
