HS SAIL: Dolphins take on daunting seas to top local rivals

Hilton Head Prep sailing claimed local bragging rights Saturday, winning a five-team regatta hosted by the South Carolina Yacht Club under difficult sailing conditions. With highs in the mid-60s and a steady wind gusting up to 18 knots, sailors were challenged, and the Dolphins navigated the choppy seas the best, edging John Paul II by one point and Hilton Head High by two. HHP’s JV squad finished fourth, followed by Hilton Head Christian Academy. Will Tebrake and Escher Lucier were the winning skippers for HHP, with crew Aiden Darr, Lila Ferne, and Dominic Peppitone helping the Dolphins claim the top spot.
