Three area teams have locked down region championships, and several others secured their spot in the dance this November. With another busy week behind us, here’s what we learned as our Lowco squads come down the stretch.

Hilton Head Christian Academy’s boys placed third behind state champions Jack Ussery and Levi Eidson, Hilton Head Prep’s Sterling Burd matched Ussery with two individual titles, and John Paul II’s Aubrey Porada captured a state crown to lead the Lowco contingent at the SCISA State Swimming Championships on Saturday at the North Charleston Aquatic Center.
Holy Trinity cross country captured a pair of region titles Tuesday, sweeping the boys’ and girls’ SCISA Region 4-2A meets at the Habersham course in Beaufort.
