The decision that went from unthinkable to inevitable over the course of the past month became official Wednesday morning — there will be no more high school sports in South Carolina this school year.
The S.C. High School League denied Battery Creek’s appeal — and the seven others from schools throughout the state — on Tuesday and Wednesday in Columbia, essentially solidifying the SCHSL’s realignment plan for the next two school years.
Battery Creek is one of eight schools across the state who are scheduled for official appeals of the S.C. High School League’s proposed realignment set to go into effect for the 2020-21 school year.
