The Whale Branch boys basketball team edged visiting Beaufort High 41-39 on Friday.
Robert Alston scored 11 points and Roshard Campbell and Nigel Fields added nine apiece to lead the Warriors.
Ethan Leana, Brandon Smalls, and Trae Heyward each scored 10 points to lead the Eagles in defeat.
The Warriors (1-1) play at Philip Simmons on Tuesday, while Beaufort (1-3) was back in action Saturday against visiting May River.
