Camden Davis scored 21 points to lead three May River players in double figures as the Sharks opened their season with a 73-37 win over John Paul II on Friday.
DeShawn Martin added 15 points and Isaiah Byam contributed 11 for the Sharks. Amere Cherry scored 16 points to lead the Golden Warriors.
May River (1-0) travels to Beaufort High on Saturday, while JPII (1-1) hosts Benedictine on Tuesday.
