May River High School edged rival Bluffton High School by eight shots to win the Region 8-3A girls golf title Tuesday at Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club.
Bluffton’s Sophia Burnett shot 1-over-par 73 to win the individual title by one shot over teammate Camilla Burnett and May River’s Kathryn Thorne.
Both teams will advance to the Class 3A Lower State meet Oct. 16 at Diamondback Golf Club in Loris.
