PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
• Jaeon Allen, MRHS: Allen came up big in the Sharks’ second-half surge against Hilton Head High, finishing with 100 yards and two TDs on just seven carries and contributing five tackles and two pass breakups on defense. Allen also picked up an offer from The Citadel this week.
• Jeremiah Dilbert, BCHS: In a do-or-die game on the road, Dilbert delivered. The bruising Battery Creek back piled up 286 yards and 5 TDs on 24 carries to carry Creek to a playoff-clinching victory after a three-week hiatus.
• Braydon Dineen, BA: Dineen continues to develop into an outstanding leader at quarterback, and he was poised and in control against John Paul II, completing 6 of 8 passes for 94 yards and two TDs and adding 67 yards on four carries. He’s also a key contributor on defense and racked up six tackles with two interceptions, including a 55-yard pick-6 against the Golden Warriors.
• Joseph Robinson, HHCA: The Speedy Show took center stage in the Eagles’ rout of Hilton Head Prep, as Robinson rolled up 134 yards and 3 TDs on 11 carries, caught two passes for 25 yards, and racking up four tackles (two for loss) and a sack on defense.
• Alvin Wilson, BHS: Wilson has been a monster down the stretch, and he put up another ridiculous line against Colleton County. The senior defensive lineman finished with eight tackles (four for loss), a sack, a QB pressure, a pass breakup, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. That’s a season for some players.

TEAM OF THE WEEK
Battery Creek Dolphins (2-4, 2-1)
At first glance, the Dolphins’ season might seem like a disappointment. Battery Creek won only two games in the regular season, after all, and the Dolphins were trounced by SCISA 1A power Thomas Heyward in their opener. But the adversity Terrance Ashe has faced in his first two seasons at the helm of a program that hasn’t finished above .500 in nearly two decades, and guiding the Dolphins to the playoffs in a season in which the team was repeatedly sidelined by COVID-19 protocols and rarely at full strength is an accomplishment that shouldn’t be overlooked. Creek went into its regular-season finale at North Charleston coming off a three-week hiatus and with only a couple of days of full practice to prepare, yet Ashe’s team roared to a 34-0 win over the Cougars to claim the No. 3 seed, and even if they don’t pull off the upset at Crestwood on Friday, the Dolphins have shown they are on the right track.

GAME OF THE WEEK
South Florence (7-3) at Beaufort High (8-2)
Everyone in Region 7-4A knows that if a Region 6-4A squad shows up on the opposite line on the bracket in the postseason, you’re in for a fight, and the 10th-ranked Eagles will have a scrap on their hands Friday night. Slipping to the No. 2 seed actually gave Beaufort High a more favorable potential matchup in the second round, but it makes the opener quite a challenge with the No. 7 Bruins coming to town. South Florence was one play away from knocking off top-ranked Myrtle Beach two weeks ago before suffering a 28-27 loss to rival West Florence last week. The offense took a hit when Virginia commit quarterback LaNorris Sellers was lost for the season to injury, but the Bruins still have enough firepower to test the Eagles’ outstanding defense, so this should be a terrific first-round matchup of top-10 teams.
