TUESDAY’S MATCHES
Beaufort 4, James Island 2
The Eagles took down the top contender to their Region 7-4A crown with a 4-2 win at James Island, taking four of the five singles matches, including a three-set win for Diego Alvarez at No. 2 to clinch the win. Beaufort (2-1, 2-0) picked up another win over Hilton Head High on Thursday to stay perfect in region play.

The Seahawks handed the Cougars their first region defeat of the season, as Colleton County’s Raphael Vassel won at No. 1 singles but HHIHS swept the remaining five courts in straight sets to remain perfect in Region 7-4A by winning their second of four matches on consecutive days. The Cougars (3-2, 2-1) host Bluffton on Monday.

The Eagles continued their dominant run toward another Region 7-4A title with a sweep of the visiting Seahawks, winning all six matches in straight sets to remain undefeated in region play. HHIHS (4-2, 4-2) plays a non-region match against island rival Hilton Head Prep on Monday at South Beach Racquet Club, while Beaufort (3-1, 3-0) hosts Lucy Beckham on Tuesday.
