Bluffton boys golf is off to a strong start, following up a solid 11th-place finish at the Patriot Invitational on Monday with a two-shot victory over rivals May River and Beaufort High in a five-team match Tuesday at Eagle’s Pointe.
Led by medalist Jones Saylor, who shot a sterling 1-under-par 35, the Bobcats carded a team score of 158 to edge the Sharks and Eagles by two shots, as teammates Brady Sacha (38) and Lawson Rively (39) also finished in the top five.

May River’s Nick Nelson was the runner-up with a 37, finishing two shots off the pace, and the trio of Conrad Gall, Landry Williams, and Conner Ouellette carded matching 41s to tie for ninth and help the Sharks snag a share of second place.
Jack Sumner shot 39 to tie for fourth and lead Beaufort, while teammates Jack Lubkin and Gus Christian tied for seventh with 40s, and Simon McAlister tied for ninth with a 41. Hilton Head High (170) finished fourth with Nolan Hawkins (39) leading the way in a tie for fourth and Ben Batson cracking the top 10 with a 41. Battery Creek was fifth with Michael Freeman leading the way with a 56.
The Bobcats finished in the middle of a strong field of 22 teams at the Golf Club at Wescott, with Jones Saylor leading the way with a round of 76. Jackson Sacha shot 82, Brady Sacha carded an 83, and Lawson Rively rounded out the team scoring with an 85.
