Another fall Friday night is in the rearview, and Week 7 of the high school football season did not disappoint in the Lowco. We had 10 games on the slate, including the Hometown Showdown, where May River maintained its recent dominance over Bluffton.
We’ll have full recaps of every game, plus photo galleries and video highlights from select games, throughout the weekend, but here’s your first glance at all the action from Week 7 in the Lowco First Down:

May River 30, Bluffton 3: Garvin Douglas topped 200 yards rushing with two TDs and threw a 71-yard TD pass on the first play from scrimmage as the Sharks stymied the rival Bobcats in the Hometown Showdown.
Hilton Head High 34, Colleton County 6: Chase McCracken and Jaylen Sneed each scored a pair of rushing touchdowns to help the Seahawks pull away for a big region win in their debut on their new home turf.
Beaufort High 16, James Island 0: Joe Caprarola booted three field goals and Tyler Haley scored a rushing touchdown, but the Eagles’ defense stole the show with a shutout of the Trojans.
Hanahan 42, Battery Creek 14: The Hawks had too much firepower for the Dolphins, who drop to 1-1 in region play despite two touchdown runs from Jeremiah Dilbert.
Woodland 57, Ridgeland-Hardeeville 6: The Jaguars couldn’t slow down the Wolverines on the road, dropping the region contest.
Thomas Sumter 47, Beaufort Academy 13: Jaxen Porter and Braydon Dineen scored rushing touchdowns, but the Eagles’ defense couldn’t find an answer for the Generals’ attack in a non-region road loss.
Hilton Head Prep 26, Orangeburg Prep 0: Jake Rodney-Brown caught a TD pass and made a tackle in the end zone for a safety, and Tristan Bonomo tossed two TD passes as the Dolphins shut out the Indians on the road for a pivotal region victory.
Hilton Head Christian 41, Bethesda Academy 8: Jace Blackshear ran for two TDs and threw three TD passes as the Eagles rolled up a 41-0 halftime lead and coasted to remain undefeated.
John Paul II 56, Northwood Academy 0: Christian Tilton topped 100 yards rushing and accounted for four TDs — two rushing and two passing — and Mark Knight scored on the ground and through the air as the Golden Warriors blanked the Chargers for a region win.
Thomas Heyward 32, Colleton Prep 7: Anthony Fripp and Tony O’Banner each went over 100 yards rushing and scored a TD, and Brandon Howard added a TD run and a TD pass to James Townsend as the Rebels rolled to a region win on the road.
