The golf teams from Hilton Head High and Beaufort High played to another draw in the final Region 7-4A meet of the regular season Tuesday at Snee Farms in Mount Pleasant.
The Seahawks and Eagles have battled all season with each team taking the upper-hand at times, and they’ve now played to a draw twice after each posted a team score of 166 in the seven-team meet. James Island (171) was third, followed by May River (181), Bluffton (187), Lucy Beckham (196) and Colleton County (211).

James Island’s Conner Heyboer claimed medalist honors with a 1-over 37, winning by two shots over Hilton Head’s Elliott Jones and finishing three shots clear of Hilton Head’s Garret Fader, Beaufort’s Jerry Bruns and Simon McAlister, and Colleton County’s Trystan Smoak.
Ben Batson (42), Jackson Crouch (45), and Michael Gavin (46) rounded out the Seahawks’ lineup, while Jack Lubkin (41), George Cooler (45), and Mason Westerfield (45) contributed to the Eagles’ team score.
The Region 7-4A qualifier will be played Monday at Charleston Municipal Golf Course. The Class 4A Lower State qualifier is set for May 10 at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence with the top eight teams and the top three individuals from non-qualifying teams advancing to the state meet May 17-18 at Hilton Head’s Dolphin Head Golf Club.
