Hilton Head Christian Academy’s golf team didn’t quite match its blistering first-round pace in Tuesday’s final round of the SCISA state championship meet. The Eagles didn’t need to.
After setting the pace with a red-hot 295 on Monday, the Eagles followed it up with a solid 302 in the final round, easily coasting to a 14-shot victory to claim the SCISA 2A title at Coastal Carolina University’s Hackler Golf Course in Conway.
HHCA’s Max Green fired a 4-under-par 68 to finish with a 36-hole total of 4-under 140, claiming the individual title by three shots over Palmetto Christian’s Alex Stephens and Orangeburg Prep’s Harris Holstein.
The Eagles’ two-day total of 597 easily outpaced runner-up Palmetto Christian (611) with Orangeburg Prep (626) in third, followed by Spartanburg Day (630).
HHCA’s lineup remained steady throughout both rounds, as all five players broke 80 each day — a claim no other team could make in either round. Ethan Ducharme (74-76—150) finished sixth in the individual standings, while Aiden LeBlanc (74-79—153), Sean Engler (75-79—154), and Hudson Buck (78-79—157) all recorded top-10 showings.
In the SCISA 3A meet, Hilton Head Prep followed up its opening 307 with a 313 to finish third. Trinity Collegiate (588) won the team title by 12 shots over Porter-Gaud (600) with the Dolphins (620) a distant third.
Camilla Burnett (78-74—152) and Zach Boorom (72-80—152) led the way for HHP, tying for 13th, while Jeep Patrick (77-78—155) was 16th, and Tripp Hedden (85-87—172) rounded out the individual scoring for the Dolphins. Olivia Wilkie shot an 80 on day 1 before her sister Bridget Wilkie took over her spot in the lineup and carded an 81.
