HHI&B Lowco Boys Basketball Spotlight (Feb. 4, 2020)

Each week throughout the high school boys basketball season, we recognize the standouts from the previous week’s action with the Lowco Boys Basketball Spotlight presented by Hilton Head Insurance & Brokerage.

We select an offensive and defensive player of the week, as well as a Team of the Week, and highlight the biggest game of the upcoming week.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

HHCA Eagles (2-0 last week, 9-11 overall)

The Eagles were in dire need of a good week after a brutal stretch, and they delivered. A lopsided home win over Bulloch Academy inspired some confidence, which carried over to a big 53-50 home win over Beaufort Academy, which gave HHCA a chance to get back to .500 in region play with a win Tuesday against Thomas Heyward.

The Tigers stunned the Warriors in the first meeting, but Whale Branch star Nick Pringle didn’t suit up for that one. Pringle will be patrolling the paint for the rematch in Seabrook with first-place in Region 5-2A likely to be on the line.
