USCB baseball salvaged the final game of its weekend series with a comeback victory Saturday, defeating Georgetown College 6-5 at Richard Gray Stadium in Hardeeville.

Dawson Peters turned in a solid showing to lead USCB men’s golf at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate in Statesboro on Sunday and Monday, shooting a three-round 232 to tie for 21st place.

USCB track and field put on a show Monday at the Sun Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, as Shamar Deacon scored three gold medals while Masionne Jones and Oriana Hernandez added one each at the meet in Birmingham, Ala.

USCB baseball completed a home-and-home sweep of Brewton-Parker on Thursday and Friday, defeating the Barons 12-6 on the road and 6-0 in Hardeeville before Friday’s final game of the series was suspended due to rain.

SB: Bilenski’s gem gives Yeske first win at USCB
Sierra Bilinski spun a complete-game shutout in USCB softball’s season opener, and the Sand Sharks hit three home runs in Codee Yeske’s head coaching debut Tuesday for a doubleheader split with NCAA Division II Anderson at Richard Gray Sports Complex. The Sand Sharks took the opener 2-0 behind Bilinski’s gem, but the Trojans bounced back to win the nightcap 10-5.
WES’s WISDOM: Plenty of positives from Sand Sharks’ opening weekend
It ended as a weekend of disappointment on the diamond, but there were still lots of positives to take away from USCB baseball’s first action of the 2022 season. Despite dropping three of four games in the series, we saw some encouraging signs on the mound and on defense alongside a few strong performances at the dish. Here are a few Sand Sharks that caught my eye and raised their stock as Ted Falkner’s second season at the helm gets rolling.
BSB: Sand Sharks drop 3 of 4 in tight opening series
USCB baseball couldn’t find the offense in its 2022 season-opening series on Friday and Saturday, dropping three of four games to Milligan (Tenn.) at Richard Gray Stadium in Hardeeville. The Buffaloes took both of Friday’s games in a pair of 3-2 and 2-1 victories, and USCB won Saturday’s first contest 5-4 in walk-off fashion before dropping the finale 4-1.
WSOC: Sand Sharks come up short in quarterfinal clash with Bobcats
USCB women’s soccer saw its Sun Conference tournament run end in the quarterfinals Saturday, falling just short to St. Thomas 2-1 at STU Soccer Field in Miami Gardens.
