GOLF: Peters leads Sand Sharks in Statesboro

The champion of the event from a year ago, Peters began his quest of defending his 2021 title with a solid 74 but lost steam in the final two rounds with back-to-back 79s.

Tyler Fox finished strong for the Sand Sharks in Monday’s final round, joining a group of just 12 golfers to shoot par or better with an even-par 72 to finish the tournament tied for 32nd (236). Jonas Demant improved his scoring as the event went on, carding a 75 in the final round after an opening 81 to place 31st (235) while Jacob Thomas took 35th (237).

USCB heads back on the course on February 19-20 for the Savannah Intercollegiate at Crosswinds Golf Club.
