May River wrestling is headed back to the Class 4A state championship match for a second straight year, and the Sharks will get another crack at perennial power Eastside after easily ousting Hartsville with a 50-29 road win Wednesday in the Lower State championship.
Gabe Juarez, Chris Snowden, Jorge Valdez, Kaiden McCallum, Emilio Mendoza, EJ Seman, and Santiago Rueda all recorded pins for the Sharks, while Isaiah Wysong won by technical fall, and Billy Hall earned a decision.
May River forfeited the final two weights after safely clinching its spot in the title match, where the Sharks will face Eastside, which has won 15 state titles in the past 21 years. The Eagles won the first nine bouts and forfeited the final five weights in a 43-30 win over the Sharks a year ago.
They will meet again at 4 p.m. Saturday at Dreher High School.
