HSVB: Seahawks keep rolling through region play

Hilton Head High volleyball kept up its perfect region mark over the week, downing both Colleton County and Bluffton in three-set sweeps.

The Seahawks rolled past the Cougars on Tuesday, sweeping the match 25-12, 25-12, and 25-17 to start the week. 

Ady O’Grady led the stellar effort, earning nine kills, eight digs and one ace. Ava Edri tallied eight kills and three aces, while Makenna Mason recorded 31 assists alongside five digs, two kills, and an ace. Abby Jacobs was phenomenal across the court, serving four aces alongside six kills, three digs, and two blocks. Leah Jackson impressed with a trio of aces, and Liza Allen added a block.

The Seahawks’ defense stifled the Cougars’ attack, as Carlie Erwin recorded three of the team’s six kills. Jewel Chambers had seven digs, and Bailey Cox and Jordan Slocum added six each to anchor the CCHS defense.

The Seahawks kept it rolling on Thursday, sweeping rival Bluffton 25-11, 25-13, and 25-6 to pick up their 25th victory of the season.

Sophia Tollefson and Siobhan Rogers each had four kills for the Bobcats, with eighth-grader Maya Smith adding three kills. Riley Giglio had eight digs on defense, and Riley Burkhart anchored Bluffton’s serve-receive.

Hilton Head High (25-4-1, 10-0) travels to Lucy Beckham on Tuesday. The Cougars and Bobcats square off Tuesday in Bluffton.
