It was a busy night of high school football in the Lowco, with nine games on the Friday night slate and two more still to come Saturday and Monday.
We’ll have full recaps, photos, and video highlights from numerous games throughout the weekend, but here’s your first glimpse at the Week 4 action in the Lowco First Down.

Thomas Heyward 32, Hilton Head Prep 7: Anthony Fripp scored a pair of first-half rushing TDs as the Rebels built a 26-0 halftime lead and rolled to a road win to hand the Dolphins their first loss.
John Paul II 40, Memorial Day 6: Mark Knight picked off two passes and caught two TDs from Christian Tilton, and Jackson Ogden added a pair of rushing TDs to lead the Golden Warriors to a rout of the Matadors for their first win of the season.
Hilton Head Christian Academy 53, Orangeburg Prep 0: Jace Blackshear threw three touchdown passes and rushed for three more scores, and Joseph “Speedy” Robinson and Jackson Lanier each had rushing and receiving scores to lead the Eagles to an impressive rout in their debut on their new Bluffton campus.
Oceanside Collegiate 31, Beaufort High 17: Tyler Haley and Zyrin Odom hooked up for a TD pass and Amariee Morris scored on the ground to help the Eagles erase a 17-0 deficit, but they couldn’t hold off the Landsharks down the stretch in their first defeat.
Thomson (Ga.) 48, May River 7: The Sharks ran into a buzzsaw in the Brickyard, as the Bulldogs raced out to a 35-7 halftime lead and stymied May River’s ground game, which was limited to a first-half touchdown run by Garvin Douglas.
Wade Hampton 17, Bluffton 14 (OT): Wade Hampton’s Cameron Clackum booted a 34-yard field goal in overtime to lift the Red Devils past the Bobcats, who had the ball first in OT but came up empty on fourth-and-goal from the 4 in their second straight overtime game.
Whale Branch 34, Military Magnet 0: Joseph Hicks scored three touchdowns on the ground — including runs of 63 and 85 yards — and Kai’Shawn Jenkins threw TD passes to Keith Chisolm and Ray Pryor as the Warriors rolled to an easy region win at home.
Beaufort Academy 62, Northwood Academy 6: Devonte Green rushed for three TDs, Jaxen Porter added two on the ground and one through the air, and Braydon Dineen tossed two TD passes as the Eagles routed the Chargers at home to open region play.
Dorchester Academy 25, Colleton Prep 7: Caleb Byron threw three TD passes — two to Haden Hartzog and one to Hunter Hartzog — and the Raiders’ defense picked off two passes and scored a defensive touchdown to beat the visiting War Hawks, who got a TD run from Cole Davis.
