Rhogue Wallace shined at the plate with three extra-base hits, and Beaufort High rolled past visiting Hilton Head High 9-2 on Wednesday to finish off the two-game sweep of the Seahawks.
The Eagles got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning, as Zach Talbert crushed a solo home run to left field. Hilton Head High answered back in the fourth with a pair of bases-loaded walks to take a 2-1 lead, but it was all Beaufort the rest of the way, scoring eight unanswered runs to complete the series sweep.
Wes Graves notched the victory on the hill, allowing just two runs in 5 2-3 innings and racking up six strikeouts, while Chase McKelvey took care of the final four outs.
Wallace delivered another terrific outing, going 3-for-4 in the cleanup spot with two doubles and a triple alongside a pair of RBIs. Oliver Holmes, Colin Peterson, and Talbert all collected two hits each for an impressive Eagle offense. Jackson Philpot led Hilton Head High with a 2-for-4 night.
Beaufort High (6-5, 4-2) battles Oceanside Collegiate at home Saturday.
Hilton Head High (8-8, 4-4) hosts May River in a key Region 7-4A matchup Friday.
