Hilton Head High’s Max Arnot scored six goals, and Kyle Kirkpatrick added four goals and three assists to power the Seahawk boys lacrosse team to an 18-6 win at Beaufort High on Thursday.
Arnot and Kirkpatrick led the way as the Seahawks spoiled Beaufort’s Senior Night. Bill Fielding added two goals, and Seth Woods had a goal and two assists as nine different players found the back of the net for HHIHS. Lucas O’Nan was 21-of-26 on faceoffs and gathered a team-high seven ground balls for the Seahawks.
Amare Ford scooped six ground balls and added five takeaways, Connor Flood had six ground balls and three takeaways, and Anders Kennedy collected five ground balls and three takeaways to lead a strong defensive effort for HHIHS.
Lucas Michels had a goal and two assists for the Eagles, while Todd Youngdahl, Luke Krieger, Grayson Bridges, Michael Morales, and Duncan Caldwell each scored once. Jonah Forrestall and Tate Shetzer led the Eagles with four ground balls each.
Drew Schlesener made six saves for the Seahawks, and Beaufort goalie Zach Jindrich turned away nine shots.
The Seahawks (3-5, 3-3) host Bluffton for a Region 7-4A matchup Monday.
The Eagles (0-8, 0-7) wrap up the region slate at James Island on Monday.
