HS GOLF: Kylie Bowes, Sharks top region rivals at Bear Creek

May River’s girls golf team opened the season with an impressive victory over their Region 7-4A opponents Tuesday at Bear Creek Golf Club.

The Sharks fired a team score of 173 to edge Hilton Head High by nine shots, while Beaufort High was third and James Island was fourth. Bluffton had only three players, one short of the minimum to record a team score.
