Hilton Head High’s swim teams opened their season with wins over five area rivals in a six-team dual meet Wednesday at Island Recreation Center.
Both Seahawk teams went 5-0, while Bluffton’s boys and May River’s girls each went 4-1. May River’s boys and Bluffton’s girls were 3-2.
Multiple event winners included Hilton Head High’s Kevin Geist (200 free, 100 fly), Skylar Bruner (200 free, 500 free), and Meaghan Lyons (200 IM, 100 breast); and May River’s Allie Ingram (50 free, 100 back).
May River’s Clayton Boyles (200 IM); Hilton Head Christian Academy’s Caleb Eidson (50 free) and Sterling Burd (100 fly); Hilton Head High’s Kyla King (100 free), Cohen Bruner (100 free), and Tommy Hughson (500 free); Beaufort High’s Samuel Marrero (100 back); and Bluffton’s Jack Camino (100 breast) also won events.
The HHIHS girls won the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay; the HHIHS boys claimed the 400 free relay and 200 medley relay; Beaufort High’s boys won the 200 free relay; and the MRHS girls took the 400 free relay.
