HS Lax: Seahawk Boys Continue Dominant Start

Hilton Head High’s boys’ lacrosse team posted another dominant win over a county rival with a 15-0 win at Bluffton on Saturday.

The Seahawks dominated from the outset, leading 8-0 after the first quarter and 10-0 at halftime.

Chaz Renaud led the offensive onslaught with five goals and an assist, Jake Rader added four goals and three assists, and Max Boyer registered three goals and three assists. Will Frith scored two goals and went 8-for-8 on faceoffs, and goalies Chris Valentino and Drew Schlesener combined for the shutout. Jordan Singleton had three takeaways and four ground balls, and Collin Courtney added two takeaways and eight ground balls to lead the dominant defensive effort.

“We really got started at the right tempo we wanted to be at – we really came out of the gate flying,” Seahawks coach Will Callegari said. “As a group, we definitely improved on the stuff we needed to since Wednesday night. But we still need to do a better job on our shot selection, which will be something we will be sure to address. These young guys continue to buy in and improve from week to week, so I am confident we will continue our growth as a team.”

The Seahawks (2-0) hosts James Island at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
