Hilton Head Island High School virtually clinched the Region 8-4A volleyball title with a 3-1 win at Beaufort High School on Thursday.
The Seahawks won 3-1 (25-22, 25-17, 28-30, 29-27) to sweep the season series from the Eagles and improve to 7-0 in region play.
Hailey Lamar had 12 kills and four blocks, and Chase Vaigneur added nine kills for the Eagles. Caroline Malphrus had a team-high 26 digs, Madison Gallion added 20 digs and 17 assists, and Macy Purdy had 17 digs.

Hilton Head Christian Academy remained unbeaten in region play with a sweep of John Paul II on Thursday, winning 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-18).
Sydney DeSimone had 14 kills, five aces, and 13 digs to lead the Eagles, who handed the Golden Warriors their first home loss of the season. Brielle McCarthy had 28 assists and 16 digs, and Lauryn Qualls added six kills, six aces, and 10 digs for HHCA.
Abigail Barker had five kills and six digs, and Darby O’Donnell added 10 assists, 10 digs, and three aces for JP2. Marissa Majorkiewicz had a team-high 13 digs and three kills.

John Paul II bounced back from its first home loss of the season to beat Veritas 3-1 (26-24, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22) in front of the school’s entire student body as part of homecoming festivities.
Marissa Majorkiewicz had 13 kills, 11 digs, and three aces, and Abigail Barker added nine kills and three aces to lead the Golden Warriors. Darby O’Donnell had 28 assists and eight digs.
