Battery Creek at Bishop England
The Dolphins hung in against the Bishops despite being outshot 13-2 and getting off only two shots on goal to Bishop England’s seven in a 2-1 loss on the road. Ashton Morgan scored Creek’s lone goal in the first half, and Jonathon Cruz made five saves. Battery Creek (3-2, 0-2) hosts Oceanside Collegiate for another region match Thursday at Whale Branch.
Wade Hampton at May River
Renty Kitty recorded a hat trick and Jahaziel Rosado added a brace to lead the Sharks to an 8-0 win over the Red Devils. Alonzo Peña had a goal and an assist, Jose Elias Miranda and Angelo Garcia each added a goal, and Zeke Chappelear dished out two assists for the Sharks, who scored four times in each half. May River (6-2, 1-2) resumes region play with a key match at Hilton Head High on Friday.
Hilton Head High at Beaufort High
The Seahawks evened their Region 7-4A record with a 1-0 win over the Eagles on the road. HHIHS has held four of its five opponents to one goal or fewer with two shutouts. HHIHS (2-3, 2-2) hosts May River for a key Region 7-4A matchup Friday. Beaufort (0-3, 0-3) hosts Lucy Beckham for a region matchup Friday.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt at Bridges Prep
The Bucs bounced back from a tough 5-0 loss to Royal Live Oaks to blank the visiting Red Raiders 4-0 in a Region 6-1A matchup. Sophomore captain Michael Legier scored a brace, and classmate Timothy English and freshman Tyler Dickerson each added a goal, while freshman keeper Clay Sanders needed only two save for the clean sheet behind a dominant defense led by newly-named captain Darick Fisher. The Bucs (4-2) played at John Paul II on Thursday.
