Hilton Head Christian Academy boys basketball got back in the win column on its home court Thursday, downing the Coastal Hurricanes homeschool program 52-39.
The Eagles pounced on an early 14-4 lead after the first quarter and maintained a strong nine-point advantage at the halfway stage. Big man Brady Bagenstose came alive in the second half, scoring all seven of his points after the break to push the lead back to double digits at 32-20. Then Qayden Turner put the finishing touches on the Eagle victory, scoring seven of his eight points in the final quarter to close out the game.
Isaiah Anderson had another huge night for Hilton Head Christian, leading all players with 18 points. Wells Sharpe continued his strong shooting with a nine-point outing, Turner put up eight points, and Bagenstose added seven.
Tylor Mascunana put up a solid line for the Hurricanes with 11 points, six rebounds, four assists, and five steals, and Micah Faith added 11 points.
Hilton Head Christian (5-9, 1-4) is back in action Friday for a massive region battle with Bethesda Academy.
