Hilton Head High boys basketball stayed perfect in region play with a terrific road effort Tuesday night, soaring past Colleton County 65-40.
The Seahawks grabbed the upper hand in the first quarter with a 15-8 run behind seven points from Nate Rohr before earning contributions from six different scorers in the second period to build the margin to 31-20.
Hilton Head’s offense kept rolling after halftime, as Karyce Campbell and Josh Hennum each knocked down a triple while Chane Brown’s squad dialed in on defense for a 17-9 surge before Zac Morris added five points in the fourth to lock down the victory.
Jocorey Walters paced the Seahawks with 12 points, Morris put up 11 points, and Rohr also reached double figures with 10. Brown’s group showcased its depth throughout the contest, as seven different players scored six or more points.
Colleton County’s Deshaun Blocker led all scorers with 22 points, and Brian Hamilton added six.
Hilton Head High (8-5, 3-0) travels to Beaufort High on Friday in a matchup of unbeaten Region 7-4A squads. Colleton County (4-7, 0-3) plays at Bluffton on Friday.
