Hilton Head Prep’s boys and Holy Trinity’s girls claimed victory Tuesday in a cross country meet at Hilton Head Christian Academy.
The Dolphin boys won the team title with 42 points and placed three runners inside the top 10, led by Jimmy Kuehler (20:38.62) in fourth and Ernest Friday (20:39.11) in fifth. Beckett Jones (21:03.09) took eighth, and Luke Aragon (21:33.33) crossed the line in 11th.
Holy Trinity (51 pts) finished right behind the Dolphins as Daniel Reedy (20:14.60) led the way in second place. Caleb Stone (21:00.28) placed seventh while Sam Moore (21:25.66) took 10th overall.
CBCCA’s Jesse Richardson won the boys title in 19:27.21, while Noah Kaufman (20:34.87) led Hilton Head Christian with a stellar third-place finish, and John Paul II’s Kelon Reynolds (20:53.36) came in sixth. Eighth-grader Burgin Topper (23:49.20) led Beaufort Academy in 28th and Nick Rauch (26:18.74) paced Bridges Prep.
Despite Devon Yarde’s first-place individual finish, the Mighty Lions (32 pts) edged Hilton Head Christian Academy in the girls race by nine points.
All five Holy Trinity scoring runners finished inside the top 11, led by Bryant Salley (25:42.62), Ellie Schaub (26:25.70), and Brice Stepp (26:47.35) in sixth, seventh, and eighth. Elise Marquardt (27:33.53) cracked the top 10, and Jubilee Mayo (28:50.62) was next in 11th.
Yarde (23:45.31) took the top spot for HHCA while sixth-grader Ava Richards (24:30.45) impressed for Beaufort Academy with a runner-up finish. Brady Mahoney (25:41.75) led John Paul II’s contingent in fifth place.
