Hilton Head High volleyball stayed perfect in region play Tuesday, fending off Bluffton on the road in straight sets.
The Bobcats tested the defending state champs in the opening set, but the Seahawks took the narrow 25-20 victory before easily closing out the match with a pair of 25-10 and 25-12 decisions.
Ady O’ Grady was terrific for the visiting side, recording nine kills, seven digs, three blocks, and four aces. Abby Jacobs and Kenzie Ryan added eight kills each for the Seahawks, while Ava Edri shined with seven kills and a team-high eight digs. Makenna Mason continued her stellar start to her junior campaign, racking up 35 assists to go with a trio of aces.
Siobhan Rogers led a strong Bluffton effort, picking up four kills and four aces alongside seven digs.
HHIHS (7-2-1, 3-0) returns home Thursday for a key region clash with May River. Bluffton (3-4, 1-2) hosts St. Vincent’s on Thursday.
