Hilton Head High softball rebounded from a rocky first inning to rout visiting Battery Creek 20-5 in four innings Thursday.
Reagan Marchant blasted her seventh home run of the season and drove in five runs, and Jayden Lopko had a pair of doubles and six RBIs to power the Seahawks, who drew 14 walks.
The Dolphins plated four runs in the top of the first with Caitlyn Bentley’s two-out double plating two to make it 4-0. The Seahawks got two back in the bottom half, and Marchant’ launched her sixth home run in nine games in the second, a three-run blast to put Hilton Head on top.
Battery Creek tied it on Elisa Williams’ RBI single in the third, but the Seahawks scored six times — five of them with two outs — in the bottom of the inning to take control before pushing across nine runs in the fourth to end it early.
Delcie Swift went the distance in the circle for the Seahawks, allowing five runs and five hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
Hilton Head (3-14) hosts Timberland on Friday before traveling to Battery Creek for a rematch Tuesday.
