HS BSB: Wolf, Cougars shut down Dolphins

Gabe Wolf tossed a five-inning no-hitter and Ben Kennedy had three hits and three RBIs to lead Colleton County baseball to a 12-2 win over visiting Battery Creek on Thursday. 

Wolf worked around eight walks and a pair of errors to limit the Dolphins to two runs (one earned) with two strikeouts. Battery Creek took a 2-0 lead before Wolf settled down and shut the Dolphins out over the final three innings.

The Cougars tied it with a pair of runs in the third and erupted for seven in the fourth before closing it out with a three-run fifth. Kennedy was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Grayson Cromer added two hits and two RBIs for Colleton. Michael Ortiz added an RBI double, and JC Poe had a run-scoring single.

The Cougars (5-16) host Aiken on Wednesday, while the Dolphins (4-11) host North Charleston for a doubleheader Friday.
