Hilton Head High girls soccer couldn’t find the answers to stop a dialed-in James Island squad Thursday, falling at home to the region champion Trojans 8-2.
The visitors got it started early, as Alarie Hodge sent a bullet to the back of the net in the first minute before James Island doubled the lead 10 minutes later on a penalty kick.
The Trojans kept the offense rolling with two more goals, and Hilton Head High found the scoreboard in the final minutes of the first half as Anna Kurtz darted past a defender and hit the top corner.
But James Island continued its domination after halftime, adding four more goals in the second 40 minutes. Julia Kubec scored the lone Seahawk tally in the half, knocking a rebound into the net.
Hilton Head (9-5, 8-2) will enter the postseason as the No.2 seed out of Region 7-4A.
