HS BSB: Sharks make quick work of Cougars for 8th straight win

May River baseball ran its winning streak to eight games and bolstered its case for an at-large berth in the Class 4A playoffs with a 10-0 home win over Colleton County in five innings Wednesday. 

Darin Horn continued his dominance on the mound for the Sharks, striking out 10 and limiting the Cougars to six hits and one walk in a five-inning shutout.

James Layman went 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs, and two RBIs to set the tone for the Sharks. Caleb Allinder was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, and Horn and Luke Holland each had a hit and two RBIs. 

Ben Kennedy, Jackson Bell and Grayson Cromer each had two hits for the Cougars. 

May River (12-6, 7-3) hosts Woodland in a non-region game Tuesday. Colleton County (4-15, 1-9) travels to Philip Simmons for a non-region matchup Tuesday.
