Bluffton girls soccer got off to a quick start and breezed to a 6-1 road win at Lucy Beckham in a Region 7-4A matchup Thursday.
Adeline Rios scored a hat trick, and Gwenna Townsend and Micaelann Gies each added a goal and an assist to lead the Bobcats, while Serena Miller tacked on a goal. Anna Andreoletti, Leyla Dubs, and Katie Shrewsbury each had an assist.
The Bobcats built a 4-0 halftime lead and kept the Bengals at bay all night to close out the victory.
“Now that we hit about the same number of games that we would’ve played before region play in a non-COVID year, the team chemistry is starting to jell as well as team trust and self-confidence,” Bluffton coach Brian McCarthy said. “Hopefully we will be able to boost our resume enough in this final week to get a spot in the reduced playoff format.”
The Bobcats (6-3, 5-3) travel to Colleton County for another region matchup Friday.
