Hilton Head High girls soccer put up a dominant performance on the road Tuesday, notching a 5-0 shutout win over May River.
In her first start, freshman Andrea Tapia scored two goals to lead the Seahawks. Julia Willey found the back of the net on a corner and Madeline Pollitzer added a goal.

Claire Sanford created a phenomenal chance in the box and beat the keeper, but was fouled for a penalty. Julia Kubec delivered a flawless penalty kick, putting the ball in the bottom-right corner to cap off the scoring.
“Props to May River tonight,” Hilton Head High coach Kit Seelbach said. “They brought a fight and kept it close in the first half. Madie Hahn is a beast in the goal. We have a very challenging final part to our season. Tonight was a great start.”
Hilton Head (5-4, 4-1) hosts Beaufort High on Friday in another Region 7-4A matchup.
May River (1-7, 0-5) faces Battery Creek in a non-region contest at home Thursday.
