HS BSB: Bobcats break out late to pull away from Wolverines

Bluffton baseball scored five runs in the fourth inning to break up a pitching duel, then tacked on four more in the fifth to cruise to a 9-1 win over visiting East Clarendon in a non-region matchup Friday. 

Jayden Timmins was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Nico Martucci went 2-for-2 with an RBI, and Cameron Poliquin had a double and drove in three to lead the Bobcats at the plate. Carson Yeager also had an RBI single for Bluffton.

Grant Musselman earned the win with five strong innings, allowing one run and five hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Timmins struck out four over 1 2-3 hitless frames, walking one, and Nate Hoyt struck out the final batter to seal the win.

The Bobcats (2-4) resume region play Monday at Colleton County.
