HS GLAX: Seahawks come up short vs. Wildcats on Senior Night

Hilton Head High girls lacrosse fought hard against a quality opponent at home Thursday, falling to Richmond Hill 14-9 on Senior Night. 

The Wildcats outscored the Seahawks by a count of 10-5 in the first half, but Kara Cooke’s squad did a fantastic job controlling possession in the second, creating strong scoring opportunities and matching the visitors 4-4 with tremendous play by senior goalkeeper Megan Rickenbach.

Anna Ferrebee led the way with three goals, and Bailey Olive scored a pair. Ella Christie picked up a goal and an assist while racking up 10 ground balls, and Brooke Simons, Sarah Kate Shupp, and Sofia Cavano added a goal each. Rickenbach dazzled on her senior night, making 10 saves in net. 

Hilton Head (6-3, 6-2) travels to Bluffton on Monday for a key region matchup.
