HS BLAX: Seahawks surge past Bobcats in second half

Hilton Head High boys lacrosse rallied from a halftime deficit to beat visiting Bluffton 17-10 on Monday in a Region 7-4A matchup.

The Bobcats led 3-0 after one quarter and 7-5 at halftime before the Seahawks outscored them 12-3 in the second half. 

Bill Fielding led the HHIHS attack with five goals and scooped four groundballs, while Seth Woods scored four goals and gathered five groundballs, and Kyle Kirkpatrick had a monster night with two goals, five assists, and three groundballs. Max Arnot also recorded a hat trick for the Seahawks, and Isaiah Shatz had two goals and an assist.

Bluffton’s Ben Ramsey scored four goals and assisted on another to go with four groundballs, an interception, and two takeaways. Reggie Peralta scored a hat trick for the Bobcats, while Chase Day added two goals and an assist, and Carlo Pulido scored a goal and assisted on three more along with a team-high 10 groundballs and an interception. 

Amare Ford led the HHIHS defense with eight groundballs and four takeaways, and Lucas O’Nan scooped six groundballs. 

Bluffton goalie Jackson Reese made an incredible 21 saves, and Hilton Head’s Gavin Dellinger stopped 11 shots.

The Seahawks (4-5, 4-3) host region leader Lucy Beckham on Friday. 

The Bobcats (2-7, 2-6) travel to Lucy Beckham on Wednesday.
