HS BLAX: Reese, Bobcats lock down on defense vs. Eagles

Bluffton boys lacrosse pitched a shutout for the final three quarters, as goalie Jackson Reese turned away 15 of 16 shots on goal to help the Bobcats claim an 8-1 home win over Beaufort High on Monday.

Reese was strong between the pipes, and senior Carlo Pulido scooped a team-high nine groundballs and went 5-of-9 on the faceoff dot to help lead a stifling defensive effort from the Bobcats.

Jackson Skinner scored half of the Bobcats’ eight goals, Ben Ramsey added two goals and an assist, and Pulido contributed two goals for Bluffton, while Chase Day added two assists.

Grayson Bridges scored the lone goal for the Eagles, while Diego Martinez and Luchas Michels each won seven groundballs and Zach Jindrich made nine saves.

The Bobcats (2-5, 2-4) continue region play at home against Lucy Beckham on Thursday.

The Eagles (0-7, 0-6) host Hilton Head High for a region contest Thursday.
