HS GLAX: Black, Vaught lead Bobcats past James Island

Bluffton girls lacrosse rode the momentum from last week’s overtime win to a convincing 9-3 road victory over James Island on Monday. 

Lauren Black scored a fantastic five goals, Talia Vaught earned a hat-trick along with picking up six ground balls, and Sophie Chambella added a goal and assist to lead the Bobcats. 

Brilee Larson excelled between the pipes, making eight saves on 11 shots to notch the win as the Bobcats put together a stout defensive performance.

Bluffton (4-2, 3-2) hosts May River for a Crosstown Showdown rematch on Thursday. The Bobcats won the first meeting with the Sharks 16-5.
