Colleton County baseball suffered its first loss of the season Monday, falling 6-3 to visiting Goose Creek in a non-region matchup.
It was a 2-1 game before the Gators scored twice in the sixth, then answered the Cougars’ two-run frame with another two in the seventh before closing it out.
Jackson Bell was 2-for-4 with a double, JC Poe went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Dustin Hadwin had an RBI double and scored for the Cougars.
Warren Hunter went five innings, striking out seven and allowing four runs on four hits and four walks to take the loss.
The Cougars (3-1) travel to Hanahan on Wednesday.
