Hilton Head High’s wrestling team swept a pair of county rivals and celebrated star James Levy’s 100th career win with victories over visiting Bluffton and Battery Creek on Wednesday.
The Seahawks were able to collect seven pins in a 48-36 win over a vastly-improved Bluffton team, then seven more in a 59-17 rout of Battery Creek. Levy, a two-time state runner-up, provided a pair of pins on his Senior Night, including his 100th career victory.
“James is one of the hardest working kids in the room and a natural born leader,” HHIHS coach Patrick Boulware said. “Can’t wait to see what the rest of this year has for him.”
Zao Estrada, Drew Vigh, Sabastien Agnew, KJ Holland, Jimmy Jacobs, Devon Espinosa, and Brayven Shapiro also went 2-0 for the Seahawks, while Alex Ruckno, Chase McCracken, and Peter Rougeaux earned wins against the Dolphins.
Adolfo Garcia, Barrett Lanese, Nate Elliston, Daniel Ussery, Jeremiah Curry, and Connor Ross picked up wins for Bluffton against the Seahawks, while Robbie McManigle, Bradley Smith, and Dreshaun Brown won for Creek.
Hilton Head High travels to May River on Wednesday for a key region matchup.
