Hilton Head Christian Academy’s girls were not challenged in the first step of their state title defense, as the Eagles hammered Dillon Christian 75-21 in the first round of the SCISA 2A state tournament Saturday at Heathwood Hall.
The Eagles jumped out to a 24-6 advantage after the first quarter and extended it to a 56-21 halftime lead. HHCA’s starters played limited minutes, as all 13 Eagles scored.

Dior Shelton led the way with 12 points, and Skylar Smith, Lynda Young, and Abby Peduzzi each had 10. Devon Yarde added eight, and Molly Smith had six for HHCA.
HHCA (27-2) will play Thomas Sumter or Spartanburg Day at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Heathwood Hall.
