VOTE NOW: Week 10 RBC Heritage HSFB Player of the Week nominees

Here we are. The final voyage of the RBC Heritage Player of the Week for the 2019 high school football regular season.

We’ve seen tremendous performances throughout the Lowcountry week in and week out, and Week 10 was no exception. We had beastly backs who chewed up yardage to help their teams clinch playoff spots or region titles. We had dominant defensive players, two-way standouts, and game-breaking receivers. And of course, a quarterback putting up big numbers in the clutch.

Cast your vote before 5 p.m. Thursday to help us pick the Week 10 RBC Heritage Player of the Week. Here are the nominees:

The Heritage Classic Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization, enhances the quality of life and economic vitality of our region by hosting the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR golf tournament.

Will Frith, HHIHS — Stepped in for the injured Lavarus Brown and rolled up 222 rushing yards on 21 carries, to go with five tackles and five pass breakups at cornerback, in a 28-10 win over Bluffton.

De’Arius Hazel, WB — One last nomination for the senior ironman, who had 93 yards and two TDs on 15 carries and four tackles (two for loss) before suffering a broken leg in a 38-0 win over Battery Creek.

Jacob Union, BA — Rushed 12 times for 143 yards with a touchdown and three two-point conversions, and added a sack in a season-ending 59-12 win over Patrick Henry.

James Dagin, BHS — Rushed 15 times for 121 yards and two TDs in a 31-21 win at Colleton County to clinch the Region 7-4A title.

Robert Hall, HHCA — Senior first-year player was a menace to HHP quarterback Stone McDonald with five tackles, four sacks, and a pass breakup in a 48-19 win that clinched the region title.

Joseph Robinson, RHHS — Rolled up 216 yards on 26 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the Jaguars to a 28-22 win over Lake Marion and a berth in the Class 3A playoffs.

Hayden Shinn, HHCA — Senior quarterback was 19-of-35 passing for 266 yards and five TDs and added 89 yards and a TD on the ground in a 48-19 win over Hilton Head Prep.

William Winburn, BHS — Junior linebacker moves from regular “Unsung Hero” to the Player of the Week ballot with 11 tackles, three for loss, in a 31-21 win over Colleton County to clinch the region crown.

Joseph Hicks, WB — Helped carry the load after De’Arius Hazel’s injury, rolling up 101 yards on 12 carries in a 38-0 win over Battery Creek.

Evan Elliot, HHIHS — Only had two catches but made them count with 139 receiving yards and two TDs in a 28-10 win over Bluffton.
