Bluffton’s baseball season ended with a 3-2 loss at South Aiken on Monday in the Class 4A district playoffs.
Hayden Howell delivered a walkoff RBI single for the Thoroughbreds in the bottom of the seventh, preventing the Bobcats from forcing a winner-take-all second game for the district title.
Cody Eldridge gave the Bobcats an early lead with a two-run triple in the second inning, but South Aiken responded with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the frame to tie it.
Dillan Montenegro took the tough-luck loss for Bluffton, allowing three runs (one earned) in 6 1/3 innings.
The Bobcats finish the season with a 10-13 record.
