May River kept its softball season alive with a 10-4 win at Cheraw in the Class 3A district playoffs Monday.
Kylee Gleason was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs, and two RBIs to lead the Sharks at the plate. Olivia Turpin was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Giovana Rodriguez and Kayla Bradley each added two hits.
Rodriguez earned the win, going the distance and allowing four runs (three earned) and nine hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
The Sharks (14-6) will travel to top-seeded Gilbert on Wednesday needing to beat the Indians twice to claim the district title.
