HS Baseball: Seahawks Sink Bobcats, Claim No. 2 Seed

Hilton Head High claimed a series win and locked up the No. 2 seed from Region 7-4A with an 11-4 win at Bluffton on Friday. 

The Seahawks plated eight runs in the first inning and coasted to the win, as Colin Gross went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, and JR Richardson was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Matt Mebane and Stratton Pollitzer also drove in two runs. 

Hunter Julseth came on in relief and shut down a Bobcat rally in the second inning, then blanked Bluffton the rest of the way, allowing five hits over 5 2/3 innings while striking out four.

Noah Simonsen was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Joe DiCarlo was 2-for-4, and Anthony Storzieri had a double and two RBIs for the Bobcats.

Hilton Head (14-6, 5-4) plays in the Hanahan Invitational Tournament in Charleston next week, beginning at 2 p.m. Monday against Lewis County (W.Va.).
