Bluffton claimed its third consecutive Region 7-4A victory with a 3-2 win over visiting Hilton Head High on Monday.
Carson Yeager squeezed home Cameron Poliquin with the go-ahead run in the sixth inning. Dillan Montenegro went 2-for-3 with an RBI and earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs (one earned) and four hits with five strikeouts and three walks.
Stratton Pollitzer was 2-for-3 and scored a run for the Seahawks, while JJ Mlodzinski and Kyle Markowitz also drove in runs. Mlodzinski took the tough-luck loss, allowing three runs (one earned) and four hits with five strikeouts and one walk.
The Bobcats (8-8, 3-4) travel to Hilton Head (12-6, 3-4) for the second game of the series at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
