HS Softball: Sharks Swing Hot Bats Vs. Bobcats

May River racked up 16 hits in a season-opening 14-4 win at Bluffton on Wednesday.

Olivia Turpin went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a homer, four runs, and six RBIs to lead the offensive outburst for the Sharks. Kylee Gleason was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, Peyton Rockwell was 3-for-3 and scored three times, and Maddie Armistead was 2-for-3 with an RBI. 

Gabby Ximenez allowed three runs (two earned) over three innings to earn the win, and Giovana Rodriguez gave up one unearned run over two frames. 

Isabella Spears was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs, and Reagan Kelly added two hits for the Bobcats, who opened their season with a 13-1 win over Ridgeland-Hardeeville on Tuesday.

May River (1-0) hosts The King’s Academy for a doubleheader Friday. Bluffton (1-1) travels to Bamberg-Ehrhardt for a doubleheader Saturday.
